Some time ago I visited the National Park Baluran. Located between Situbondo-Banyuwangi, exactly in Sumberwaru village, Banyuwangi district(on the east border of Java Island). This park is a forest preservation covered area about 25,000 hectares on the north coast of East Java. In this location you can enjoy the panorama of savannah and mount Baluran (inactive volcano) in the center of the area. Baluran is habitat of many exotic animals Such as wild pigs, deer, peacocks, wild chicken, Some species of monkeys and Also bulls as the protected animals in the area.
From the entrance Baluran, Bekol is 12 km, with broken road. And Bama coast, from Bekol is about 3 km, with rockroad access. To enter the Baluran, everyone charges Rp2500 per people, it is not include costs outside the vehicle entrance fee. When down the street toward the Bekol, we meet a lot of butterflies were moving around everywhere. Sometimes i see partridge, who immediately flew when I approached. In addition, we can meet the monkeys in the streets, quiet the monkeys are tame. But unfortunately for the bull, deer, buffalo, very difficult to find.
After nearly 30 minutes past the potholed roads, I arrived at Bekol. First impression when I saw these savannas as if we were in Africa. Therefore some say that this Baluran is "Africa van Java" Africa from Java. In this Bekol , there are towers that can see 75% of the national park. It is very beautiful scenery we can looked from the tower Baluran. Once satisfied to enjoy Baluran of heights, I go down and get ready to go to Bama Beach.
On the Bama Beach we can see the sunrise, because the beach is facing east. But I did not get to see the sunrise in this beach, because I just stop by . In Bama, you can still see mangrove forests. Also on this beach, there are many monkeys around, be carefull from them, because when we are careless, they were quick to steal our things. Facilities in Bama, as in Bekol, are adequate; rooms, public toilets are available here. If you intend to stay, you can rent a lodging in Bekol.
